  • Adobe Acrobat Reader is a software which converts any file into PDF. Approx 450 million users are using Adobe Acrobat Reader. It is available for Windows, Mac, Android devices.
  • Choose Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Adobe Acrobat DC in the list of programs, and then do one of the following: (Windows 7 and earlier) Select Always use the selected program to open this kind of file. (Windows 8) Select Use this app for all.pdf files. (Windows 10) Select Always use this app to open.pdf files.

Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is a two-step process. First you download the installation package, and then you install Acrobat Reader DC from that package file. You do not have to remove the older version of Reader before installing Acrobat Reader DC.

Before you install, always make sure that your system meets the minimum system requirements.

You need Mac OS X 10.9 or later to run Acrobat Reader DC. If your operating system is older,

  4. Double-click Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to start the installation.

  5. When asked if you are sure that you want to open the file, click Open.

  6. When prompted, enter your macOS user name and password.

The Acrobat DC product family introduces two tracks for both Acrobat and Reader which are essentially different products: “Classic” and “Continuous.” Most end users will install the Continuous track provided from the Reader Download Center.
